Auto-note w/order status?

Is there a way to have AC7 add a note when I change a status. Specifically I want to have a note automatically added to an order when I mark it as backordered.

I guess for this you will need to put some code under the location in order manager where you can change the order status. The code to add order note can used from History and Notes page of order manager section.
