possible bugs in onepagecheckout - asp.net 7.0.2

Hi,
I have searched the forums for a satisfactory solution but have been unable to find one. I earlier thought this error was coming due to some customization we did in onepagecheckout but after adding an uncustomized version of one page checkout and the bugs still coming, i am inclined to believe these are ablecommerce legacy bugs and serious ones i think

Page: one page checkout
Situation : Taxes and shipping revert to zero when some error occurs in payment part of form which causes an error to come further when customer re-inputs correct card details . This error asks user to checkout again unnecessarily. This error occurs both if a payment choice is changed (example paypal vs. credit card) or credit card no.s re-entered further due to any error.
It also occurs on some combination of changes done in shipping vs. billing address. I really would like if someone in ablecommerce can address this and solve it and also if someone is finding such a problem or have dealt with it to please let us know - if they found a way to solve. I feel disappointed and would really like assistance in this matter.
