Limit to the number of customer groups
Has anyone used AC with a large number of customer groups? We have a need to have about 2000 customer groups and are wondering if this will test the limits of AC's capabilities.

Can you explain the differences in the groups? Is there a different price for each group? Is it for reporting? Some products only available to some groups?
Depending on how your using groups would effect the load and the amount of data.

The difference is for pricing and availability. Each group has a different price, including different pricing for different levels of the product. So group A can buy product 123 for $1.00 for 1-3 and $2.00 for 4 or more. But group B has to buy product 123 for $1.50 for 1-2, $2.00 for 3-5 and $2.50 for 6 or more. And then group C has no price for product 123 at all because they can't buy the product.

Volume discount and multiple price rules could get extremely complicated to get to work. Volume discount is normally a flat $ off or flat % off and the same % off for all users.
In your scenario Group A gets a 50% discount for 4 or more. Group B gets a 25% discount off 3 to 5 the same item. I do not think that is possible with the stock Able commerce. There are ways to customize many parts of able but takes a lot to code them.
