Payment of non-cart invoices

I was wondering if there is a way to use AbleCommerce to allow our customers to pay non-cart invoices through the cart. Someone from your support team told me there is a Pay Order page available to allow customers to pay their invoices online, but this requires an order number, in which this case, there won't be a cart order number. Any information anyone may have will be of great help. Thank you!

You'd need to create an order for them to be able to come in and pay the balance.
The other thing that's possible is to create a custom product that's variable priced, then with a bit of customization you could send the customer a URL to the product.

they could add the product to the basket and checkout.
