Unique Shipping Costs for Catagories or Items

Hi All,

Is it possible to have a unique shipping cost for a particular dept, catagory or item? I wanted to make all the products for one of my catagories to allow free shipping. Appreciate any help with this!!

Its not a easy task to do, need to handle through customization in back end code.

Its possible without any customization. Create a new warehouse, then create your shipping method for example Free Shipping Method. Finally edit those products which you want to be shipped via free shipping and assign them newly created warehouse which you assigned to free shipping method.
