Sudden PayPal issue

Post by Brewhaus » Wed Jul 14, 2010 1:38 pm

At some point last night the PayPal logo stopped appearing on our order receipts when someone has selected PayPal as a payment method. As a result they do not click on it to carry through with payment. Apparently early this morning it was not even showing broken link symbol, so our customers could not carry through at all. Now there is a broken link symbol (small block with an X) so those that KNOW what it is for can follow through and pay.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I wondered if that may happen. So, it was definitely PayPal messing around.

Thank you for the response, Mazhar!

PayPal instructs us not to store the image locally and refer to it. They require integrators to link to it on their site. In case anyone was wondering why it's done that way.

Yeah, but what happens when they decide to take the image off their server or
whatever they did the other night, causing the Reciept page to have
no PayPal button the customer can click?

... do we have to use THEIR image?? If we have our own, then the problem would be alleviated.

We have to go through a review process as part of our developer agreement. So we have to use it. But I certainly couldn't control what merchants do with their own installations.
