Hi,
For some reason, all of our store URLS look like this in Google:
/%2Fmolcajete-grande-12-negro--P570.aspx with that odd "/%F"
We don't have anything like that in our URLS. What could be causing this. All pages are now indexed like that.
Thanks
Barb

Re: Odd characters in all URL strings from Google
In google analytics, they show like this, with 2 //
//molcajete-grande-12-negro--p570.aspx
If you do a google search you'll see:
/%2Fmolcajete-grande-12-negro--p570.aspx
Anyone seen this?

Re: Odd characters in all URL strings from Google
I've learned more here. I did a view source and this is what I see:
<link rel="canonical" href="%2fmolcajete-grande-12-negro--P570.aspx" /><style
Whatever creates the "canonical link is putting the %2F in the url string.
Where is this coming from?

Re: Odd characters in all URL strings from Google
Such a lonely conversation <g>
The answer is:
Ablecommerce bug, fixed in release 7.05. Canonical link is adding an extra "/" to each URL so all of our store pages are now incorrectly indexed in Google.
My bigger concern is now, once we do the upgrade, and we fix the problem, Google will no doubt reindex all those pages again, under the new URL and we're going to have massive duplicate content issues. We just released our shop in late June so we already have redirects in place from our old cart to Able so we can't redirect the redirects.
Any SEO experts out there have any ideas? This is a killer for 4th quarter retail sales.
Thanks.
