My website has crashed recently. I’m not sure it was ablecommerce software or database problem. I backup some file such as : \app_data\scriptlets\custom\*.* ; \app_themes\ {your theme} \*.* ; \assets\productimages\*.* ; \conlib\custom\*.*
My previous ablecommerce software is version 7.0.2 , after install ablecommerce software 7.0.3, I lost all my previous listing, the new installation seems not link with old database .
My questions are:
1. Is there are any possible way to retrieve my old database and restore my previous listing? Does reinstall 7.0.2 will work?
2. To prevent such disaster happen again, I will backup my database regularly but which ablecommerce files I also need backup to keep my previous listing still work, even after reinstall your software.

Re: how to link old database to new install
Do you have a backup of your old database?
If you are hosting your site somewhere with a well known host I assume you should have the backup. Good hosts always take regular backups of your site and database. If this is the case you can request your host to restore your site to a previous state.
If you were maintaining your site on your own server then you still must have all the files on your system and your database should be intact if it was only your website that crashed. In this case you will have to restore files to a previous state assuming that system restore was enabled on your system.
If you have lost all the files but you still have the database and you want to connect the old database to the new store you can go to the Configure -> Security -> Database menu in your new installation and provide the details of the old database.
You can possibly run into problems with this approach. Database structure of 7.0.3 must have been updated from 7.0.2. It can possibly work but if it didn't work it can leave your system unstable. In order to be able to restore to the previous state keep a backup of your App_Data/database.config file.

If you have the old database and can connect to it with the 7.0.3 files, you can run the upgrade.aspx in the install folder. That will do whatever is necessary to the 7.0.2 database so that it will work in 7.0.3
