Group pricing rules make no sense with varients

Ok, so I have a product with varients, but no way to set pricing rules for the varients for groups. Please tell me I am missing something??

Pricing rules as well as discounts can not be applied at the variant level. They apply at the product level.

Do you know if there is a fix for this in the next build? Or is there a way to have a parent product, with child products set as varients?

Do you mean product kits?
There is a product kitting feature in AbleCommerce. That might help.

No, I mean that you have the Gobi Glove, but then you have different colors, and or material options, and they all have different prices...but are all just varients of the Gobi glove.
