When i use the search that is in the header, no matter what i search, it returns the results as ALL of my products. I talked to our guys that run our counterpoint and they said that they had another customer that ran into that problem and it was a bug with ablecommerce, not their end.
the advanced search works fine it's just the search in the header. anyone know of a fix?
thanks. and yes i know i'm a n00b
oh and the version i'm running is VERSION: 7.0.4.13424

The only fix for the standard search is to upgrade to Able 705. It has been fixed there and the search is so much better as far as relevant results.

Hi,
I'm having this issue with 7.0.5. Is there anything else I can try?

I noticed 7.0.6 was out, did a fresh install and that seemed to fix the issue.

I have landed smack dab in the middle of this issue and I can't get out! I am on 7.0.7 and I updated my search page to use my new header and footer now all my search results in all products! I reverted back to my standard header and footer and it is still happening. I reverted my SearchPage.ascx and SearchPage.ascx.cs files back to my original install and that didn't fix it. I have another 7.0.7 site that is live, used its SearchPage conlib files and that didn't fix it. I don't show an error in my logs, the page doesn't result in an error but no matter what is search all my products show up in the results. Need help with this ASAP. Thanks!
