USPS Rate Changes

I'm trying to verify that AbleComm 7.0.4 will automatically use the adjusted USPS rates that go into effect Jan 4th. http://pe.usps.com/prices/DownloadableFiles.htm

I assume the integration is using the USPS API and will reflect the updated rates when they go into effect.

Is there a solution that we can use to get this working correctly ASAP or are we waiting on a fix from AC??

This is absolutely killing us (we pretty much only ship USPS) and we need this fixed right away!

This has happened to us a couple of other times as well. I am unfortunately not noticing the same problem on our competitor's sites so am wondering why we are having these issues every time USPS changes rates and the rest of the online industry does not seem to be scrambling after the fact, but already is running smoothly????

No rates for me either. Had to manually create a Priority Mail rate, just so that people can still check out. Is 7.0.4 permanently busted? Do we need to upgrade to 7.0.6?

Having problems on 7.0.5. Checking into it now.

Every version will be broken until they post a fix. The same thing happened last year at this time. USPS changed the names so they no longer match what AC is looking for so no rates show.

Here is the fix from last year.. they will need to do the same for this years changes.

What is happening is that USPS has changed the name of services returned in the xml quote response.

<MailService>Express Mail&lt;sup&gt;&amp;reg;&lt;/sup&gt;</MailService>

a quick fix is to replace &lt;sup&gt;&amp;reg;&lt;/sup&gt; with an empty string like so
providerResponse.LoadXml(responseData.Replace("&lt;sup&gt;&amp;reg;&lt;/sup&gt;", ""));

this is in the USPS Provided source code...

Yes.. I read they are trying to make the trademark symbol but messed it all up.

I sure hope they send out a mass e-mail and instruct us how to fix this. Has anyone from AC acknowledged the problem yet?

Sorry about this everyone. It would be nice if USPS could settle on one name for there shipping options and stick with them.

The following patches are available for download and the instruction are in the ReadMe. The patches have only been briefly tested and are not fully supported until the full testing cycle is done.
