Tax rounding

Post by rjcuser » Wed Jan 19, 2011 3:49 pm

Just checking out AC7 and I’m noticing that you enter the ex tax amount in the product prices and that the app adds the tax… is there a workaround where you can’t get the inc tax figure to be exactly right when you are selling at 49.95 for example? Ex tax values of 41.62 is too little and 41.63 is too much… with a tax rate of 20%

I don't think there is a way because Able rounds to two decimal points. If they didn't, a customer might show a penny difference between their order balance and their order payments and show the order as unpaid. I have seen that happen with custom code where things weren't rounded.

Other eCommerce applications I have used and am looking at, take the inc. tax price as the data entry and then deduct the tax in in all it's calculations... is there any way to do this with AbleCommerce? Thanks...
