tax time but no annual reports :-(

Post by GrfxDan » Thu Jan 20, 2011 12:36 pm

It's tax time again, hooray! :-( ...unfortunately I'm again at a bit of a loss as to why AC7 offers fewer reporting options than AC5.5

In AC5.5 I can get a report like the following for any date range that I enter:

Results from xx/xx/xxxx to xx/xx/xxxx:
Product Sales: .................. $0.00
Product Discounts: .................. $0.00
Product Sales Less Discounts: .................. $0.00
GiftWrap Charges: .................. $0.00
Coupons Redeemed: .................. $0.00
Taxes Collected: .................. $0.00
Shipping Charges: .................. $0.00
Total Receivables: .................. $0.00

Total Number of Orders: .................. 0
Total Items Sold: .................. 0
Number of Customers: .................. 0
Average Order Amount: .................. $0.00

However, in AC7 I'm limited to daily and month sales reports. As far as I can tell there's no way to get an annual report. Am I missing something? Why does the newer AC7 have fewer options/less functionality than the older AC5.5?

Can anyone tell me if there's an easy way to get an annual report (similiar information to what's shown above) from my AC7 store?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Dan

What accounting program do you use? Quickbooks gives me most of that information.

I use Excel spreadsheets to do my accounting. Have considered moving to Quickbooks but it's so much easier to stick with what you know.

Dan,

By now you've probably found a way to get your summary sales data. But just in case ...

There is a menu in AC7 7.0.6 that seems to show everything you're looking for. The URL is http://www.yourstore.com/Admin/Reports/ ... mmary.aspx

If you're looking for more, we've just put up some reports on our website. They let you search your orders by a few more fields and you can download the results in CSV or Excel format. You can see what we've got at:

http://www.ecombuildertoday.com/ablecommerce-reports

If you don't see what you need, send me an email or contact us on the site - we should be able to help.

Unfortunately I'm running 7.0.3 and there is no SalesSummary.aspx - so no, I haven't been able to get the information needed yet ...and it's once again tax time...

Dan,

Take a look at this report:

http://www.ecombuildertoday.com/ablecom ... les-report

This is like the AbleCommerce daily sales report but it lets you choose any date range. While it doesn't present the information in the same format, you can download the following fields in CSV or Excel format. Once in Excel you can get your totals. There is also a view on screen option which displays totals at the end.
OrderNumber, OrderDate, ProductTotal, ShippingTotal, TaxTotal, DiscountTotal, CouponTotal, GiftWrapTotal, OtherTotal, ProfitTotal, OrderTotal
The one thing it doesn't have is the total product count or number of unique customers. If those are important, let me know.

From our site you can download a sample of the CSV/Excel files. We offer a 30 money back guarantee if you're not satisfied with the report.
