Allow client to Renew Subscription

I want to allow client to renew their subscription before current subscription expires.
Can anybody help me to send renewal email 3 months prior to current subscription expiry & allow Client to renew that subscription?

Similar requirement here. Also, can a subscription renewal add on to time on the existing subscription, or are they basically buying a second subscription that overlaps timeframes?
