Migrating from able commerce 7.0.7 to able commerce 7.0.6

Post by mikebill212 » Mon Jun 13, 2011 12:56 am

I have recently made all changes in able commerce 7.0.7 and made the site live. But there are some more customization we need to perform in the site. And for that we need commerce builder component, but it is yet to be release after 2 weeks. So we have decide to migrate application in able commerce 7.0.6. We had also bought the commerce builder component for 7.0.6 which is not compatible with 7.0.7.

So can anyone suggest me how i can downgrade my application from 7.0.7 to 7.0.6.

Thanking you in advance.

Well, I think you need to do this manually by comparing (Using any tool like Win Merge) able commerce 7.0.7 files with original able commerce 7.0.6. If you find any change in both files then replace that specific file with able commerce 7.0.6 file as well.

Thanks for your reply :)
I had thought of this option only but this will be too lengthy process as it involves many changes.

Don't we have any other options?

Restore from backup. Besides, your database version will now be out-of-sync with the application version.

That's a recipe for long-term problems.
