Narrow Search Results Not Working

Post by euroluxantiques » Sat Aug 06, 2011 4:35 pm

I'm running 7.0.6, and when I click on any of the categories under Narrow or Expand Results, the javascript does not seem to work at all. The same number of items remains and the page is not reloaded. I have not modified this file in any way. The page I'm working on is:

Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

Hello,

The page is working for me when I narrow or expand results using the Product Finder control. However, if I try to click the Buy Now button from any product, nothing happens and I get scripting error using IE.

The errors have to do with loss of viewstate, which might indicate this install is located in a webfarm? If that's the case, then try to follow the instructions here -

If this helps, be sure to update and let us know please.

Thanks!
Katie

Katie, thanks for the reply. I generated the new machine key. I noticed that I already had one in web.config, so I just commented it out and added the new one. It didn't seem to make a difference, but I found what is causing the Buy Now and MiniBasket Checkout buttons not to work. I put a new module in called Search AutoComplete from Plugables, and when I turn it on, it causes these buttons not to work. If I put SimpleSearch (default) back in, they work. I'm working with Abdullah from Plugables to find the reason for the difference. He says that his module doesn't affect viewstate, but it's obviously doing something, at least on my site. I do have a few custom modules in place, but all were working happily prior. I'm hoping to get Search AutoComplete installed, as it is a cool module, and good for our customers, as we sell so many unique items.
