AbleCommerce Shopping Cart Software

Hi EveryOne,
I launched a new site for a recording artist and implemented Able Commerce as the shopping cart to sell MP3's and other merchandise.

I want to start looking into using QR codes (Quick Response) codes to embed the friendly URL's generated by AC 7.7 to promote and sell products through the Able Commerce shopping cart.
These codes are scanned on SmartPhones and other electronic devices and take you streight to the embedded url.

Could anyone please give me their experiences with implementing QR Codes with Able Commerce?
Any things to be aware of?
Anything to recommend?
Any pitfalls or struggles regarding these types of QR Code implementations and using them in conjunction with AC?

Will appreciate any input or suggestions.

I use QR Codes on all of my advertising now for http://www.HotLeathers.com I've had no issues on my 7.0.4 site. So far I've found them to be a great marketing tool to bring customers directly to relevant content.

Forgive my ignorance, but what's a "Quick Response Code" ??

Hey Joe! Here's the wiki link to learn ya all about QR codes... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_Code Think of them as a bar code that anyone with a smartphone can scan. I use them on all of my print advertising. If someone was in one of my stores and saw a poster that says "Like us on Facebook" there would be a QR code on the poster that if they scanned with their Smartphone they would be sent directly to their phones browser and my facebook page would load right up!

So THAT's what those funky square barcode-like boxes are for??

You got it. Try using the site http://www.qrstuff.com/ to create one linking to your site and try it out!

That would be awesome for business cards wouldn't it? You could make product-specific business cards that smartphone straight to the website content....very cool.
