Hi Logan,

Thanks for writing me. I've tried that, and when I am editing it, the drop down does not have the option for parcel. It still has the original option of package. I am really dumbfounded. I feel like I'm doing something wrong here, but the instructions were so simple.

I should mention that, I also applied the "PatchUSPS.aspx". I updated the database, per the help page instructions, and I still don't see any parcel option. Do I not see it because I applied this database update?

Should I just delete the .csv file and copy it back over? I've tried recycling the IIS, and nothing seems to work for me. Thanks. Any help is appreciated.

Did you ever apply the USPS patch released in 2011? The 2012 patch builds on top of that. If you are installing the CSV file, you may still need to do this:
http://help.ablecommerce.com/upgrades/a ... s_2011.htm

In 2011, we modified the compiled DLL so that we could distribute future changes to the services names as a less-complicated CSV file update. I notice the 2012 patch refers to this but doesn't have a link to the 2011 patch for reference.
Cheers,
Logan

Hey Logan,

Yes, I did apply the USPS patch released in 2011. Just to make sure, I went through it again. Then, I went through the 2012 patch again. Then, I re-installed the CSV to the APP_data folder. Just to make sure, when you say install the CSV file, you just mean copy paste it in the App_data folder right? I recycled the IIS by adding a space in the comment section of my web.config file. I still do not see USPS First Class Parcel as an option. I still see package as the only option. Any other ideas? Greatly appreciated.

Was there ever a resolution to this? I'm seeing this same behavior in a 7.0.3 install. I've confirmed the USPS DLL version is correct. The CSV is in the correct place. The db has the correct names but the admin interface still shows 'package' instead of 'parcel'.

I can't figure out why it's not taking the CSV names.

We haven't been able to figure it out on a site either, but I don't remember what build it was.

<rant> I'm sure this code change added huge efficiency's to the postal system. I mean, come on, changing "Package" to "Parcel" saved them one whole character! After all, I'm sure this created or saved lots of developer jobs too. I know I had nothing better to do.</rant>

Yes, if Post Office used ids instead of names like UPS does and they used to do, it would be so much easier to work with for all of us. Then a name change wouldn't break anything.

My client had to get Able support to fix it. The update as released simply wouldn't work on their 7.0.3 install. I was told Able had to manually update the tables.
