We would like to allow shoppers to select their Country and Shipping Method on the Basket.aspx page. Below are the functionality we are looking for:
Display the Available Shipping Country, and the Shipping Methods for each country on the Basket.aspx page, similar to Forzieri's cart page below.

After a shopper makes the selections, the shipping fee will appear immediately via Ajax, and the order total will be updated as well.
Also, we would like Shopper's Country and Shipping Method Selections to be "remembered" for that particular Cart, and also eventually be remembered (and prepolulated) during checkout.
Meaning once a Shopper makes the Country and Shipping Method selection on the Basket.aspx page, even after she leaves the site, those selections will still be remembered when she returns to the site several days later.
Can someone please give us some guidance on how to achieve the above, such as which Able Functions to used etc.?
