Using multiple tax providers

When multiple tax providers are configured (such as a 3rd party provider and the native AbleCommerce tax calculator) is it configurable to call one for some situations and the other the rest of the time?

It will depend on the implementations. Your implementations have to be smart enough to figure out those 'some situations' when they have to run or not.
