Simple Search improvment

Hello,
Is there away to improve the simple search conlib "The search bar", I know there is advanced search page, but i need to improve the simple search bar that shows a search page.
I found a code in the wiki to improve it & making it search for sku, which is good, but i need it to search for example: text in description/ color/ size, If possible.
And can it search through the website pages, not only the products ?
