Exclude group from pricing rules

I have a scenario where all users, anonymous or logged in, need to have pricing rules in effect with the exception of one group, wholesalers. Wholesalers already get a discount so we don't want to apply another discount through pricing rules on top of it. Is there any way, custom code or otherwise, that I can tell Able to NOT apply pricing rules when the user is logged in as a wholesaler?

Your scenario description is a bit confusing to me. You want a situation where price rules impact anonymous or authenticated users, but exclude specific authenticated users.

Wouldn't a wholesaler who comes to the site, but hasn't logged in yet, be tipped off to the different pricing??

You could try this- I think Able applies the highest discount for a customer, so if the wholesalers get a higher discount than others, that would work.

For this situation, the wholesale group has a global volume discount in place and the pricing rules are stacking on top of it. Wholesalers are aware that they have a blanket discount over other users so for them to see different prices before logging in isn't a big deal. I tried adding additional pricing rules specific to the wholesale group with no discount but since the higher discount applies they're being overridden by the general pricing rules. I hope that makes it a little clearer. I've tried a few different ways of doing it with no success so any other suggestions are greatly appreciated. We really are just trying to avoid wholesalers getting both the volume discount and an additional discount because of the pricing rules.
