Alt-text of product images

Hello,

For SEO purposes, I want to change the Alt-text of the products main image. Inside the basic info of a product you can add, Name / Page Title / Headline.
with few tries I found-out that changing the 'name' will also change the alt-text. the problem is that this name is shown on several other places like the confirmation email/ the small thumbs in our website.

Is there another way to change that, or i should just change the code of these pages/emails that uses it ?

Have you tried changing the alt text on the images tab when you edit the product? That should work. You have to drill down to where you can pick or edit images, where you can actually get to the necessary fields.
