Product finder problem

Post by AbleMods » Thu Nov 22, 2007 11:29 pm

When I use the product finder to narrow the display result by something like Manufacturer, the result set count is 60 and the initial display is correct. the page number links on the bottom right reflect the correct number of pages.

However if I click to another page using those page numbers on the bottom right, the assumption is I will see page two of the filter by manufacturer. That isn't happening. The filter selection is lost and the display reverts to showing me all products.

Isn't that a bug?

Yes this is a bug if this is how it is behaving... I hope you haven't made any customizations to the page.

We have not been able to reproduce this in the latest revisions...
If this was a bug I suppose it has already been fixed...

It was bug 5976. There is a patch attached to the bug report. I don't konw how we are distributing the patches now - our bugzilla used to be public and now it is not. I have asked to find out.
Cheers,
Logan

Speaking of distributing patches, I think it would be a good idea for all merchants who want to- by emails subscription or whatever-- to be notified of patches. I've fixed things for several clients who didn't know there was a problem and a patch. For example, the one in 5.5 where a record was added to the customfields table for every user. Merchants weren't aware of it until they noticed site performance problems and some merchants might not even know when they are having site performance problems unless a customer lets them know or they monitor it all the time.

We use it for bug tracking and feature requests. Not the greatest choidce of software out there, but it fit the bill when we started it and now it's hard to change.

Judy you make a good point. We are going to have to improve that process - I'd love to see a bug/patch RSS feed, or an email list, or both!

Is there a way to identify yourself so you only see AC7 related bugs? I kinda get that idea but don't see a way to implement it.

Hmm... maybe that site still is public. Maybe unregistered users just can't report new bugs or something. You can visit the search page:

http://bugs.ablecommerce.com/query.cgi

In the "Product" field choose "New Beta Website". That will restrict to ASP.NET 7.x issues. I have already made my case for having that entry renamed to something more appropriate.
