Suggestion: Add checkbox column to products management

Post by AbleMods » Wed Dec 05, 2007 5:00 am

I love how each product can be adjusted to public, hidden etc with just a click of the icon. Plus you can easily move a product to a different category.

But when working with several products, it becomes quite a hassle.

It would be great to see a checkbox column down the left side with controls located either above or below the gridview. The controls could be identical icons like those that adjust public, hidden but apply to all checked items.

And some fries too.

I think its a good idea.
I am just worried that we have too little space left in the UI to add another column :).... Already 7 icons in a row (delete, edit, move, copy, preview, visibility, move up, move down, product icon) and the product name.
smaller icons could probably create more space?

Yeah, it's not getting any more roomy on that page. Creating a separate page would work but adds alot of complexity down the road.

What if you could shrink the leftside Select Category window width and drop the checkbox control left of the up-down product arrows?
Throw a scroll bar on the bottom of Select Category window in the event someone nested 18 levels of categories...you know as soon as you hardcode the width, someone will :)
