Is there no report to see how many you have sold at the option/variant level?

You know, I hadn't thought about it that way.

You mean something like this?

SKU 12345
Variant 12345-01 5 sold $27.50
Variant 12345-02 2 sold $12.25
Variant 12345-03 6 sold $40.00

Probably wouldn't be that hard to do as long as the original product with the variants still exists. Once a variant is stored as an order, the concept of variants is lost I believe - at that point it's just another SKU being purchased.

Nope, All they show is the main product.

We're using Google Analytics to track the product sales. It does it by absolute SKU, so you get sales of each variant. Plus, our sales and marketing people can customize and download excel versions directly.

It works great so far. Downside is it relies on javascript, so non-js folk don't register.

hmm i was wondering how well that worked in real-life, haven't taken the time to set it up. I've only been tracking goals.

Since our site isn't live yet, I can't say for sure, but it's tracking our test transactions great.

I'd ticket that to Able - reports shouldn't be showing the main SKU for variant sales, should be showing the variant.

You'd never know that the red shirts were selling great and the green ones haven't sold at all. You'd only know x amount of shirts were sold right?

Has anybody addressed this yet? I checked in 7.03 and neither the daily or monthly sales report breaks down the sales by variant.

The Order Items table does contain a row for OptionList and variant name. I checked and these are not available in either the SalesSummary or OrderSummary classes so the existing reports couldn't be modified to show a breakdown by option or variant.

I would think that every Able merchant would require a report that breaks down sales by option/variant. Without this how would you calculate necessary inventory levels or the need to even carry certain variations?

BTW. The Able 5.5 Product Breakdown Report did show the variations so it basically was a report on sales by variation.

This would be nice.
