customer has no email address

what do i do if i get an order over the phone and the customer has no email address do i have to make one up everytime

We make up one.
What we have done in the past is create the customer an account using:
firstName.lastName@sitename.com
It makes things easier for us doing it that way.

Of course I am on 5.5 and that is the way that we handled it.
