There will be a Data transfer utility you can use from 5.5 to 7 when Able releases it. They released it, then withdrew it because of some bugs.

Do you mean that First of all I must to import my products to 5.5 version that transfer to 7.0?

I've never use ablecommerce shopping cart before! I've used Store Front shopping cart for my old store!

We thought may be you are upgrading from 5.5 to 7.0.

DataPort utility does not yet support importing from StoreFront XML. In the mean time if you can share your StoreFront products XML I may be able to assess the most suitable way of importing it to AC7 at this time.

I have our categories setup in our new store. Now I would like to import our product catalog into AC7 the same way we did when we opened our AC5 store...the good ole simple batch txt file option that allowed us to upload products or modify existing products using the sku or prodID. Is that option no longer available in AC7?

Apparently the dataport utility is not available, so what other option exists for batching 5000 products into the store?

What's the verdict?

I face a similar situation.

I would like to set up a store and import products and pricing from an external datasource. I would like the ability to update pricing this way on a daily basis with a batch job.

Is this functionality possible with AbleCommerce?

I've sent email to AC Shopping Cart support team and received the answer:
We have a data client utility that will do this, but it is still in development. There is no ETA at this time. It is a priority and will hopefully be finished within the next few weeks.
