Maybe set up a custom field/template for that product?

You could use a digital good to simulate a T&C. Create a text file that contains your terms and conditions and turn this into a digital good. Then attach the digital good to your file. Then associate a "License Agreement" with your digital good, also having the content of your T&C. You can require customers to accept this when the produt is added to the basket.

It's not exactly like the basket T&C feature, but it comes close and can be product specific.

Just a note on T&C. In the site and check out T&C, there is a character limitation of 4,000 (per Able). These fields will allow more than 4,000 characters to be typed in. If you do this, an exception error will be thrown and all inputs will be lost. Using the method mentioned by Logan sounds good because this accommodates a longer character field.

The limitation exists for SQL 2000 only. On SQL 2005 the field has no size limit. I believe a bug for this issue was created some time ago to imrpove the handling for SQL 2000 installs.

Thanks for the clarification Logan.

I'm using an Able hosted solution and was not informed that the limitation was technology based.

Logan

Does the License Agreement get recorded with the client somehow? We will need to be able to show that the client did in fact agree and actually press the Accept button.

No, there is no recording of what agreement was accepted. That would have to be customized.

I'm also interested in a response to this. I currently have a product with a "digital good" (text file containing our product agreement) and a license agreement associated with it so that upon adding to the cart, a user has to accept/reject it.

I'd like to see some sort of record somewhere that the user viewed the agreement and accepted it. Is this possible/does AC do it already?

If they have to accept it in order to add it to the cart then how is that any less proof that they saw it than if you had a checkbox that said yes they did accept it.
