Adding an extra field to products ?

Hello,
i would like to know , how can i add an extra field for UPC bar code , so when i add a product i can enter it . i also like that UPC to be private .

- Another question , it is not possible to track which user added which prodcut ? i have many editors and i would like to know how many items each add daily ... ? how can i do it if it is not nativly supported

Product Template can help you attach custom fields to your product
