We are interested in using the hosted Able edition and have a question about syncing orders. We have the ability to upload products and inventory stock. However, we have to rely on our back end system for order processing and fulfillment. Is there a way for us to automatically update order status to tell Able it is complete?

Not out of the box ... but you can write custom code to achieve this. What you code also depends on the other solution that you are using for back-end processing.
