License Key Issue !

Our environment consists of three players: Development machine, Staging/Testing machine and Liver server (hosting company).

We just bought the software and it came with a free development license key. How does it work for our environment ? Can we use the same key for all 3 installations (single domain name) ?

We'd like to set our environment like this:

Development machine: localhost
Staging machine: static IP / intranet domain name
Live server: domain name

Do we need 3 installations ?
How about licenses: 2 or 3 ?
Is there difference between developer/store/production license key ?

Can someone explain all this because it's still confusing among users.

Michael

Hello Michael,

This setup would require 3 installations. Each installation requires it's own license key.

The difference between a production key and a development/test/staging key is the name of the website it is associated to.

It might be best if you open a case and let us know the names of your websites. The keys will be associated to each one.

I have a newbie question about license keys.

You told that he needs 3 unique keys, right? When you buy AC7 you receive 2 keys, one for developement and one for live/production.

Can I open a case requesting more keys for development? Are theses keys free? What is the purpose of having many license keys?

I will start an AC7 modification here in Brazil and will use one developer localhost and one stage/test site. What do I need for this? 2 developer licenses?

Thanks!
