FedEx shipping Integration question

Hi everyone,
Sometime ago I was reading a post about FedEx shipping integration, and someone stated that they were working on a module to allow complete integration with FedEx for printing labels and posting back tracking numbers.
I have been searching for this again but can not find the person that was working on the module. I did go to their site and they had modules for other store front software. Does anybody know anything about this? Any help please

I am working on a Shipping module for AbleCommerce 7.0. The final release is not yet available, but a free release candidate is available for you to test if you'd like.

Andy,
Thank you for the reply. I have downloaded the parts you mentioned and have installed them per instructions but when I open shipper 3 and tell it to get orders I get the following error. Also we are looking at using FedEx for our shipping and we use Paypal as our gateway for CC orders. Would I need the shiprush for FedEx for Paypal in order for the labels to be billed to our Paypal account or if we are going to use Quickbooks would I need that module?
Thank you
Gregg

Hello Gregg,
Would you mind sending me the URL to ShippingAgent.asmx on your website? I'd like to see if it is loading up OK. Or, if the site is still private, would you load the page and send me a screen shot?

I have not tested Shipper with the ShipRush for FedEx/PayPal product, but I suspect it will work (allow Shipper to print labels). I don't think it will charge the shipping to your PayPal account. For that, I think you need to print the label using PayPal's label printing feature. I also don't think ShipRush for FedEx/PayPal will "see" the AC orders in PayPal. Since you are using PayPal as your CC gateway, I don't think the charges appear as PayPal payments (which is what ShipRush for FedEx/PayPal "sees"). I'll ask Z-Firm all of these questions to confirm.
I'm not sure I follow your QuickBooks question. Are you asking if you can have both ShipRush for FedEx/PayPal and ShipRush for FedEx/QuickBooks installed at the same time?

Andy,
Thank you for getting back to me. The problem with it not loading I fixed it must have been something with the url I put in for the agent. It's working know. As for shipping methods I am trying to figure out whats all involved. We currently use USPS for shipping, and we use Paypal as our CC gateway and also except Paypal payments. I downloaded Shiprush USPS without Endicia and that goes to our paypal account gets the order information that was sent there by AC7 and brings it in to Shiprush, I can then print a shipping label but without postage because we do not use Endicia. We are thinking about switching to FedEx. Shiprush for FedEx has many different platforms (Paypal, ebay, quickbooks, peachtree, etc.) and I was wondering what one I would need to be able to print labels for FedEx, and how does it charge me for postage, we do have a FedEx account. The other thing that I have a question about is when I open Shipper 3 and tell it to quicprint shipping label without opening Shiprush, it keeps trying to run Shiprush for UPS. If I go to open Shiprush I can then tell it to use USPS for the labels and things seem to work from there. Also is the cost for this going to be about the same as what I see on your web site Approx. 249 for the shipper software and is there anything else we would need from you, also what would the yearly fees be approx.?
Any thoughts you have would be great.
Gregg

Andy,
Know It always whats to open UPS Shiprush no matter where or what I do. I will remove the Shiprush I have and try to reinstall it. Is there and order it which they must be installed, ie. Shiprush first then Shipper 3?

The difference between Shipper and ShipRush for FedEx
For the most part, Shipper replaces ShipRush for FedEx. As you mentioned, ShipRush for FedEx can retrieve a list of orders from PayPal. Shipper does something similar, but it pulls the list of orders directly from AC. Both Shipper and ShipRush for FedEx use the ShipRush engine to print the label and capture the tracking information. Then Shipper updates your AC store, while ShipRush for FedEx updates your PayPal account.
Here is how the pieces are connected:
PayPal <-> ShipRush for FedEx <-> ShipRush engine <-> FedEx
AC <-> Shipper <-> ShipRush engine <-> FedEx
Notice that both ShipRush for FedEx and Shipper use the ShipRush engine to print the label. Where they differ is that ShipRush for FedEx talks to PayPal, while Shipper talks to AC.
If all you need is the label printing (no reports and no updating AC with the tracking information), then you can just use ShipRush for FedEx. In that case, you should talk to Z-Firm to see which flavor of ShipRush for FedEx is best for your situation.
Whether you use the ShipRush for FedEx or Shipper to print FedEx labels, the actual shipping costs are charged to your FedEx account when you hand the packages over to your FedEx driver. FedEx will bill you for the shipping costs. A similar answer applies if you print USPS Postage. Whether you use ShipRush for USPS Powered by Endicia or Shipper, the cost of the postage will be billed to your Endicia account.
Printing FedEx Labels from Shipper
Shipper uses the Service field to decide what kind of label to print. If you assign a service like "FedEx Ground" in the Service field, then Shipper will create the appropriate label. If the Service field is blank, then the default label will be printed (which is UPS in your case). To change the default, choose Settings > Shipping Settings from the ShipRush for FedEx UI. Then expand Advanced > Web Browser and check "Use FedEx as the default if the carrier is not specified". I will eventually expose this in Shipper so you don't have to fiddle with the ShipRush UI.
