Remove Variants

I want to remove White, One Size and Black, XLarge

They are never available and I do not want people to think they are just out of stock.

Anyway to do this?

There is a checkbox on the Variants grid "Available". Uncheck that for the specific variants you do not want included in the visitor product page.

Post it as a bug to Able tech support. That behavior is not by design. The Available checkbox should eliminate those variants from the possible choices on the product page.

I had this issue also. It was working to hide the variants (in one of the demos), but they switched it sometime durring release.

You need to have inventory control turrned on, and set the product to track the inventory by variant.
One of our customers has plenty raw material, and have the finishing options set as variants. They have two finish classes (paint/stain) and then color. Not all colors are advialbe in paint or stain.

I had posted this to support, but the more people who have the problem the better.

I know Able posted a few days ago that you had to track inventory. I think the feature would be a whole lot more useful if you didn't have to do that. If something is not checked as available, it makes sense that it shouldn't even show up. Now the only indication a customer has is a message after they try to add it to the basket.

Then it shouldn't give the option if the option will have no effect.

Either way, it's a bug and it's confusing. Wonder if it's in ProductHelper where the test is made....

There's got to be a test somewhere for the variant.Available boolean. I didn't see any in producthelper class.

Hello All,
This is a known issue due to the improvement in the performance of
the variant handling. It was a trade-off we made, that ability for drastically
improved speed. Perhaps in some future version we could improve the
handling when the product is not available.

Yeah I still feel it should be handled properly. I think I (inadvertently) started a separate post a few weeks ago about it and reminded Able. Not sure how much good it'll do, but always worth another shot
