Save Product Image in APP_Data Folder

Hi All,

I have configured AbleCommerce Demo version at my development Server. All works fine, now I have already running AbleCommerce at Live testing server. After Adding New product, when I upload product photograph it gives me File Permission Error. My hosting provider is AbleComerce only they told because it is shared server they can not give that file permission.

Now if I start saving all images to App_Data folder then it must work as it is write permitted folder. I didin't find any way to save image at APP_Data folder.

Can any one tell me how to configure AbleCommerce7.0 so that all uploaded product images will go under App_Data Folder ?

You might want to check with another hoster so you don't run into these problems. Some of us are on shared hosters and are able to do all except encrypt the database connection settings.
You can also upload the images via ftp to the proper folder, then put the links in. If you're trying to upload them and re-size at the same time, you can use something like Irfanview or Batch Picture resizer to size them in a batch before you upload them.

You shouldn't be putting images in the ~/App_Data/ folder.

Images should go in the ~/Assets/ folders or a sub-folder underneath it.

Are you trying to set up products with images using the Able demonstration install? If so, that's probably why you can't upload images.

If you've purchased AC7, then something is not configured properly on the server side. You should be able to upload product images to the ~/Assets/ folder without a permissions error.

OOPs, sorry, Able. I didn't read carefully that this was a demo hosted at Able. No, don't get another hosting provider, pradyuman.
