Can anyone tell me how you can have special pricing rules for products with variants? We need 2 sets of prices for a given variant product: The retail price and the wholesale or dealer price. We know how to set up pricing for the retail or basic price but we also need it for the wholesale or dealer price.

Hello Dave,

The pricing rules only will affect the base price of the product not the variants, so it might be tricky getting the pricing correct. Discounts do work on variants, so that might be a better way to proceed.

Discounts will not work for us because the wholesale price is dependent on a user group.

Are you saying that the feature may not be possible? We need to have one price if the customer is retail and another price to show if the customer is dealer. We have a set up a dealer user group and the registered user and then assigned to this group. Once they log in, the dealer price needs to show. Our store will have many variant products but setting these products up without variants is not an option for us.

Any ideas?

Assign the discount to the wholesale group then, wouldn't that work?

Not necesarily because the discount percentage would not always be the same for all skus.

It would require a major re-write of pricing rules to make it settable at the variant level, so that's not an option. Discounts could work or you could drop the use of variants.

Has this been improved? I would like to have 5 different price levels. and percent would not work.

I have been over and over the volume discounts and I don't see any way to assign them to specific variants. Could you tell us how to do this?

Please check the volume discount section under the store settings that it may you.
