Help Setting Up Pricing Discounts/ Buy X Get X Free

I need help on how to set this up -- the issue comes with the fact that the items are mix and match.

We have a group of products that are all the same base price. People get a discount with the products, all mix and match. There are currently 24 of these products, and some belong to multiple categories.

For retail only, there are these discounts:
  • Buy 3, Get 1 Free
  • Buy 6, Get 2 Free + free shipping
Discount (Wholesale)
  • buy 1 to 5, save $37.50 each
  • buy 6 to 11, save $50.00 each
  • buy 12 to 23, save $56.25 each
  • buy 24 to 9999, save $62.50 each
I created a discount and applied it to all of the products, then set the different tiers for the wholesale users. This handles only part of the problem. I need the discount to add all of the line items and apply the price globally to the products. I even assigned them to a category all by themselves, to no avail.

I see in Administration > Configure > Store that you can set the discounts to apply to a category, but that doesn't seem to be working.

How do I do a buy X get X free for retail customers?

Okay - the wholesale issue is working. The category discount had products selected as well. I deleted the products and applied to the whole category and that discount is working.

Still need the BOGO ideas.

Hello smcfarland,

This is regarding the buy one get one free scenario. Did you ever get that resolved, or find out how to configure it? If I find a solution, I'll let you know.

I need the exact same solution. Here's my scenario:

For every three books that they purchase of this specific title, they would get one free.

purchase free books
3-5 1
6-8 2
9-11 3
etc...

Thanks,
Glen
