In the Admin I have a payment method setup for Mail in Order Form with "Mail" selected for the "Type".

When I do a test order using this method Able marks the order as Paid in Full but shows the Payments as $0.00 and the Unprocessed Payments as $xx.xx

Shoudn't it be marked as "New"? I believe that's how it was in AC 5.5.

Look at your Configure-->Order Status triggers. You have a lot more than the default because of the import of your Able 5 store. For example your "New" status doesn't have a trigger set up for it.

I thought it is sending me a confirmation email because it is automatically marked "Full Payment Received"?

That is a no-no right? I had a person call in that chose Mail in Payment and swear on her life that she entered credit card information and paid for the order and when it says "Full Payment Received" I really don't have much of a case.

I don't see how yours would be any different. I am using the final version and my site isn't that heavily modified. It's only modified for a service I offer.

When you go through the Checkout process and select Mail or Fax in Order you are saying your test is showing something different for the Status? (Status: Full Payment Received) It clearly shows "Payments $0.00" but then states "Full Payment Received" in the print screen and when I login to the Admin the order is shown under "Paid Full".

I'm going to email you some screen shots of default order statuses and what yours are-- maybe that will explain better what I'm trying to say. You might want to change the configuration of some of them and see if that works. for example your "New" status isn't triggered by anything so you could change that to be triggered by Order Placed.
If not, it might be a bug.
