Custom Triggers and Manual Email

I looked and could not find a way to do a couple of things in 7.0 :

1. Add a new custom trigger to send emails - I am able to add a new order status, but not able to associate a trigger to it... do I have to customize this at the backend via db and code?

2. Also, I am unable to find where I can send an email manually to a customer in the Able admin - select a template and set the TO field and send the mail... used to be there in Able 5.5.

You can't create new triggers, this will need a back end change.

You can send an Email message either through the Email Lists. You can also send your Email message manually through code. Please have a look at the following posts.

Thanks Mazhar... guess it was easier in 5.5 to select a list of users and then an email template and send a mail out.

You still can. Just go to Marketing/Email Lists. Each email list has an envelope icon next to the edit icon that lets you pick a template and email that template to all members of the list.
