Hello,

Most of my products have pricing rules for a specific group. This allows us to give members, member pricing on each item. Our members do not recieve a fixed percent discount, so it's necessary to use the pricing rules.

We would also like to use Volume Discounts. However, members are already recieving the bulk price or in some cases better than bulk pricing. They are not eligible to receive bulk rates.

Question: If we set up a Volume Discount and the member is already receiving a better rate due to the pricing rules will they also receive the volume discount in addition to the lower price resulting from the pricing rule? Or will they just recieve the price rule 'discount'?

If they are recieving both discounts, any suggestions for what we are trying to accomplish.

No, they both will be applied. I think so that in order to handle this situation you may need customization.

I think I've got a way to take care of this but figured I'd check into it here first. I've got a SQL job that compares our primary database to the store database and if it finds a matching account (e-mail address) it adds that person as a member. We also add some members manually, if the create an account in the store that doesn't match something in our main database.

I can write another job/query that will add everyone in the store to a non-member group that does is not in the member group. I also delete non-members who have been added to the member group. Then it should just be a matter of applying the bulk rate discount to the non-member group.
