Coupon Modifications---is this possible?

Does anyone know if we can do the following for coupon usage?

For example, lets say the cost of an item is $50, and retail is $110. We now have the item on sale for $70. Having given coupon codes to a lot of family and friends for 40% off, a lot of times they end up purchasing products for LESS than our actual cost. We want to put some restrictions on how low an item can be sold for (typically cost). What we'd like to see happen is if one of the people using the 40% code tries to check out, the price is automatically adjusted to cost, and CANNOT be lower than that.

Is this possible to do, and can someone let me know if they've seen it done on AC? BTW, we are using 7.0

If the products are already on sale then why to provide discount on them through coupon. Simply exclude those products from the coupon.

I'm trying to apply a coupon code to "Retail Price" rather than "Our Price". Ex. I want the coupon code to give the customer 20% off their purchase (based on MSRP), but we have discounted many of our products by 10% already (meaning "our price" is 10% less than the "retail price"). Using multiple coupon codes based on "our price" just seems inefficient.

Is there a way to accomplish this? We want to put the "coupon code" on certain print ads.

Maybe setting a group based pricing rule would work? You could create a friends and family user group and not give them coupons. This could be a lot more work though if you have thousands of products because you set this per product. As far as I can tell you can't take a discount off the MSRP because that's just the suggested price. Not the price that the product is actually at.
