AbleCommerce Shopping Cart Software

I'm new to this eCommerce stuff, but wondering what the best practice is for handling credit card processing. By looking at Orders in the Admin section, credit cards are manually processed. Is this the way that most eCommerce stores work? Someone has to manually click a button to get the process started. Seems like bigger stores like Amazon would have that automated. If Able Commerce can automate that process, where can I find more information on it?

The functionality is there. It seems that in your gateway settings you are using Authorization Mode as Authorize only, change it to Authorize and Capture. Please read the following help doc
