Search Keywords

Post by Tomgard » Mon Jan 05, 2009 5:30 pm

I need some clarification to the use of 'Search Keywords' on the item admin screen. Is there any reason why you would want to use duplicate content in this field. (ex. should the product SKU or Mfg Part No. be listed here) Also, is this field used for anything outside of the Able site such as Google?

If your webpage search (product finder) isn't customized to search by sku and customers will be assuming they can do that, then you should add the sku there. Sku is available in advanced search, but mpn isn't there either, so if that is what people will be looking for, you should put that in the keywords. Common misspellings are good to put in the keywords also.
