Payflow Pro reference transactions

Payflow Pro allows the use of reference transactions (ORIGID = a previous PayPal transaction ID) for sale and capture transactions to avoid storing credit card information in our own database. A reference transaction takes the existing credit card information that is stored by PayPal and uses it in the current transaction.

A previous transaction (such as an authorization, credit, delayed capture or sale) can be used as a reference in a new sale or authorization transaction.

Is this possible to use this in the current release, or must the credit card number itself be retained?

Currently the reference transaction id (ORIGID) is used for capturing of a previously authorized transaction and refunding of a transaction previously captured transaction. But what you are asking for i.e; initiating a new 'authorization' or 'sale' based on a reference transaction is not supported.
