Need help if Able can support selling on mobile phones?

hi.
(I hope I can explain this correctly?) Sometimes I go to websites and my iPhone automatically switches to the companies mobile phone supported edition example: "www.tmz.com" becomes "m.tmz.com", the latter being a lighter version for my cell phone without any flash. I was wondering if Able Commerce supports selling on the mobile platform and the tech question being how does a server know how to switch over to the mobile, lighter version...is it a server side script or on the built website? and the "m" sub domain with the lighter version for cell phones?
