AbleCommerce Shopping Cart Software

I am presently thinking of switching my site from an old Aivea cart to the AC7 cart. I have a couple pieces of custom programming I'm not sure will switch over within the parameters of the new cart funtionality. One customization is the ability for a client at checkout to click on a particular non-profit agency in a drop down menu in order to designate them to recieve a percentage of the sale as a donation. Can I use the affiliate program in AC7 to accomplish this? Or would I need to incorporate the customization we built in the old cart. And if we have to incorporate the old customization, how hard would that be? The site address is MountainAvenue.com.

If we do have custom functions in the new cart will that mess up future updates?

Web2Market just did a customization like you are requesting. When we make customizations on a piece of code (like a ConLib) we put a copy into the Custom folder first, customize that, then set the display page to use that one. It will not get overwritten in an upgrade. If we add any new tables to the database, as we did in this case, we name them W2M_tablename . Able's are all ac_tablename.

I know Aivea has a enterprise solution (more like MS Commerce Server, IBM, ATG etc.) and thier old small business cart has been EOLed. http://www.aiveacommerceserver.com is an excellent product for a serious enterprise online business.
