for the life of me, i can not get any postbacks to work in the admin backend with firefox 3 or ie 8. if i switch to ie6, the whole site runs great, but with firefox or ie 8, anything that requires a postback does nothing. no request goes out or anything.
i've tried this on 3 seperate machines, and can not get anything that requires a postback in the catalog / browse feature to work. i am relegated to navigating through the backend with query strings (ie. browse.aspx?categoryid=xx). is there any way for me to turn the post backs off and have all links straight up querystrings? this problem is driving me insane.

I don't have a problem with Firefox/3.0.6 on a Windows machine. I think there might have been an Ajax bug in FF a while back, but I might not be remembering correctly. Are you on a Mac or a Windows?

i've tried on both windows xp and server 2003. i actually got it to work for a while, but it will still break intermittently. i realize the problem sounds pretty vague, but i dont understand how 3 separate machines (2 from the office and my personal pc) all have the same issue,
in ie8 i can not even log in. though the ie8 issue may be some ms foolery from when i upgraded to rc1, the firefox issue is a serious concern.

Maybe a firewall issue?

What is the version information of your AbleCommerce and operating systems of machines where you have trouble. I am running both the IE-8 and FF3 on my WIN2003 Server and works great. There is only one known problem with FF3 that our FCK editor doesn't support FF3 completely.

I have the same issue with FF3, had it with FF2 and on occasion with IE7. I've completely abandoned trying to run admin with FF. If I disable plugins (Dev Toolbar, Fiddler) in IE7 I have reasonable success, although sometimes have to refresh the page several times. Every button that uses javascript:__dopostback.
Others in my office use different browsers, including IE8 successfully. Something to do with environment, I guess. My machine is very dev-centric, while others are not. Never really had the time to track down the problem/solution. If I get too frustrated, I termserv into another box and use admin there.

I am on Win Server 2003 R2 x64 SP2. I've also tried on an xp SP2 machine with same results in firefox 3. Incredibly, the whole admin is now working without problem. I do not know why, but I am sure it is client-side and has to do with the "Processing..." ajax loading before every post back. When it is not working, no requests go out from my browser and no javascript errors either.
At least I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. I thought I was going crazy for a second there.

I've downgraded ie8 down to 7 and was having the same problems. I found a work around, some what, that seems to fix the problem if you turn the security settings to "medium". I dont know why and dont have the time to find out. We just tried another machine that cannot use the admin or asset manager at all. This is becoming ridiculous
