UPS Account Number !!!

To test and debug the UPS shipping method (Ground) is it necessary to enter a UPS account number ?

I set my UPS shipping carrier and add UPS ground shipping method but it doesn't show up when checking out.

Any idea ? Thanks.

No, you don't need an account number. You do need an address for your warehouse and a weight on your products.

The warehouse address was set for USA. But I made orders with a canadian address and probably that's why it didn't show up. Then I changed the address to Canada and the shipping method was there.

So, for any customer overseas we need to add a new warehouse ???

You shouldn't need to. All the sites I've worked on have an US warehouse address and ship to other countries also. Did you select the UPS international methods when you set UPS up?

I think Michael's warehouse is in Canada.
Then I changed the address to Canada and the shipping method was there.
According to the UPS website (http://www.ups.com/e_comm_access/rates?loc=en_US), UPS OnLine Tools should provide quotes for shipments originating in Canada. Unfortunately the web page does not list the destination countries that are covered.

I don't know which destination country Michael tested, but perhaps it is not included.

Hi, all.

I want to set a warehouse with a canadian address (canadian company) that allows to ship products using UPS Ground. We've been using UPS Ground so far, but I don't know whether it works in AbleCommerce or how to integrate it into for a canadian warehouse. I tested with a US warehouse and it's working.

Its not called ground, its called "UPS Standard"

Hi, kastnerd.

I know UPS standard is available, but what we usually use as shipping services are: UPS Next Day Air and UPS Ground. In AbleCommerce when you add UPS carrier it's called UPS OnLine® Tools that comes with a bunch of shipping methods (including those mentioned earlier).

We want to make these two shipping methods Ground & Next Air working for a canadian warehouse.

Is it possible ? That's my question, so far I haven't been able to do so.

I went to the ups.ca web site (http://www.ups.ca) and used their online tool to calculate the available services and cost from Edmonton, Alberta to Portland, Oregon. Here is the list:

- UPS Worldwide Express Plus
- UPS Worldwide Express
- UPS Express Saver
- UPS Worldwide Expedited
- UPS 3 Day Select
- UPS Standard

UPS Ground and UPS Next Day Air were not available.

You can try the same thing for your warehouse address and your test address in the US. If the UPS website does not offer a service, it is also not available in UPS Online Tools.
