Custom Fields And Search

How can i add custom product fields in AC?

is there a way to search and load products by fields/Custom fields/Template Fields in AC?

I don't see custom fields, just Product templates, which you could use, but i don't know if those are searchable. I'd suggesting putting information used in those fields in the keywords field as well.

I'm interested in how this works as well, it relates to another post I made in relation to Joe's tabbed interface he detailed in a sticky post at top of this forum.

Basically wanted these fields (rough draft):

Product Description
More Details
Specifications (I may just figure out how to change "More Details" to Specifications)
Shipping Info.
Warranty Info.
Compare

I was hoping to have a tab for each one also using the method explained by Joe. Thanks!
