Turn off swatches and still show alt pic of product?

Can someone help me on this...
I want to list a product with all the color variants, then when you choose say "red" for example, it will turn to the red product on the picture without requiring a swatch? I don't need a swatch for many of our products.

If you do not use swatches how do you want to specify the alternate colored picture?

From the drop down list choose the color/size etc....then the picture will flip to the color binder that you selected...

I meant to say that you specify the alternate pictures in merchant admin when you associate them with swatches. If you don't chose an option to have swatches you don't specify the alternate picture.... or may be I am missing something?

I have the same question originally posed in this string. I'd like to show the pictures of the options without utilizing swatches. Example, say I have a product with three color options - black, red, blue. When a user selects the "red" color option, I'd like the product image to change to the red. Same with black and blue. I have the images uploaded, however, the picture is not changing when you choose the color options. I think there is a product-level setting (based on my use of previous AbleC versions) that allows the pictures to show as one toggles between the different options, in this case, colors. I can't find this setting in the current version. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
